I don’t see a ton of A2442 displays come in, but I am not sure if that is because the 14″ MacBook Pro has a more robust display, or if it is just because the replacement is a little on the pricey side. But when I do get this model MacBook Pro in, it is usually with a br in the center of the display, just like this one.
I am exploring the possibility of replacing just the LCD panel on this model, but I haven’t gotten all the kinks figured out quite yet (at the time of writing this). One of the big hurdles is to swap a few chips from the old display to the new one. I need to practice more as it is just a one-try deal. For now, I offer the full display replacement just like Apple does. I use a display sourced from Apple, and I complete system configuration through Apple when the repair is complete. So all features on the display will be fully functional.
My price on this repair is pretty close to what Apple usually quotes, but sometimes Apple will quite a very high price, then my price is actually a deal! I do recommend getting a quote from Apple on this model, just in case they are able to beat my pricing.
Something to note about these repairs if you decide to go the DIY route, the display will have what appears to be ghosting or similar issues along the top until you complete the system configuration step. You can see in the picture below how the display along the top isn’t displaying perfectly.

This picture was taken after the system configuration step was completed. As you can see the area at the top of the display looks perfect now. So if you have a weird issue along the top after replacing the display, you just need to contact Apple to complete the system configuration step.

I offer the A2442 screen repair nationwide with my mail-in repair service. If you would like a quote for your repair, just click the link below and fill out the quick form. I will get back to you with a quote really quickly.
Thanks! -Nathan
